Here is an elderflower cordial recipe, a great way of using up any spare elderflowers after you have made your wine. It is a very simple process that will really surprise you (in a good way).
This Elderflower Cordial Recipe is designed to be used with the equipment in our Cordial Starter Kit.
1.5L (2 3/4 pints) Water
2.5 Kg Sugar
20 Elderflower Heads
85g Citric Acid
Put 1 pint of Boiling water in the bucket, add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Once dissolved add the Citric Acid.
Grate the lemon into the bucket, add the peel then slice and add the lemon.
Wash the elderflower heads making sure to remove any bugs or dirt. Add them to the bucket and loosely palce the lid
Leave to stand for 12 hours.
Use the straining bag and the funnel to pour the cordial into the sterilised bottles. (screw top wine or swing top beer bottles are perfect)
Store the Bottles in a cool, dark place.
